- Bound Angle
How to do it: Sit with your knees bend and feet touching each other in front of your groin. Rest your knees on the floor and your palms on the ankles. Inhale and bend forward as much as you can until your head touches the floor with hips still on the floor. Hold your breath for 5-6 seconds and come back to original position as you exhale. Repeat this 8-10 times.
Benefits: The bound angle posture or ‘baddha konasana’ is a great hip opener yoga posture. It opens up your hips and also stimulates the abdominal glands such as ovaries and prostate gland.
- Cat & Cow
How to do it: Bend on your knees and rest your palms on the floor with your elbows straight, so the shoulder is positioned directly above the palms and the hips directly above the knees. Arch outward by bringing your head inwards as you inhale cat pose). Hold your breath and the posture for 5-6 seconds and as you exhale, bring your head up, arching inwards with your belly fully stretched and tailbone pointing upwards (cow pose).
Benefits: Also know as ‘marjariasana’, this posture helps to strengthen and tone your hip and pelvic muscles while increasing the blood supply to your hips, genitals and lower abdomen, thereby enhancing your sexual performance.
How to do it: Like down on your belly with your forehead touching the floor. Place your palms just beside your midribs of each side with the fingers apart from each other and elbows pointing outwards. Keep your legs straight and close to each other with toes touching the floor. With the strength of your back pull your chest up while making the elbows straight and bend backward slightly. Do this as you inhale, hold your breath and posture for 5-6 seconds and return to the original position as you exhale.
Benefits: The Cobra pose or ‘Bhujangasana’ is one if the best spine and core strengthening yoga posture. It helps you to have more control over your pelvis and better thrust while you perform in bed. It also opens up your heart and allows free flow of love, and energy to boost your sex-life.
How to do it: Lay down on your back keeping your hands by your side while the palms should be facing upwards. Bend your knees and keep your feet and hips an inch away from each other. Inhale as you tighten your abdominal muscles and lift your butt. Hold it for a few seconds and come back to original position (with your knees still bent) as you exhale.
Benefits: ‘Setubandhasana’ or the bridge pose opens up your chest and back, and it also helps to flush blood to your lower back, hips, and genitals. As you squeeze your glutes together, it helps men in better ejaculation as well. It also strengthens your lower abs and respiratory muscles.
- Downward Facing Dog Pose
How to do it: Stand straight and then bend till your palms touch the floor. Keep 2-3 inches gap between your palms as well as your legs. Make sure your tailbone is pointed upwards and your head between your arms, facing downward, so that the whole pose looks like an inverted-V. Stretch your calf muscles and arms and keep your hips upwards, maintaining the posture for 30 seconds while breathing in and out gently.
Benefits: Also known as ‘Adho Mukha Svanasana in Sanskrit, this is a great relaxing posture which stretches your calves, hips, and arms. You can do it before sex to lift your mood and libido.
- Happy Baby Pose
How to do it: Lie on your back. Bend your knees towards your belly with your feet facing up. Grab your toes with your palms and then widen your knees and feet, as you inhale. Bring your knees back near each other as you exhale.
Benefits: Happy baby pose or ‘Ananda Balasana’ stretches and relaxes your glutes, hips and lower back. This pose also doubles up as the popular missionary pose and boosts your sexual performance altogether.
